Description

This talk contains two parts.

The first part is concerned with the synthesis of control software for hybrid systems specified as hybrid automata. The synthesis is based on
a generic layered software architecture which supports both periodic and event-triggered computations. The use of the layered software
architecture as the framework for implementing hybrid controllers will be motivated. A semi-automatic code generator HA2LS (from
Hybrid Automata to Layered System) will be presented.

The second part is concerned with WCET estimation of PL programs which are used to specify cyclic computing applications. The WCET
estimation takes into account the constraints among the cyclic processes. The estimated WCET can be used to validate the timing
constraints of the system or to decide the sampling rate of the system.

A short biographical note:

Man Lin is currently a Ph.D student in the Department of Computer and Information Science in Linköping University. She got her Tech.
Lic. in Computer Science from Link”ping University, Sweden in 1997 and B.E. in Computer Science and Technology from Tsinghua
University, P.R.China in 1994.

Her research interests include: Discrete event systems, especially rule-based systems;
Hybrid systems; Software architecture for real-time systems; and Worst-case execution time (WCET) analysis.
