Description

Dr. Ning Xiong will in this talk present a systematic methodology for designing compact fuzzy rule-based systems for complex problems in real world. On one hand, a feature selection method based on case-based reasoning is proposed to efficiently identify significant attributes as fuzzy system inputs. On the other hand, a premise learning approach is developed to search for general premise structure of rules as well as to optimise fuzzy set membership functions concurrently. Finally, the utilities of the presented methods will be demonstrated by applications on industrial examples.
