Description

To create humanoid and trustworthy agents to a variable and complex surrounding like our own world is a difficult task. The agent has to be flexible and robust to be able to deal with many different situations. Still many agent architectures suffer from an inheritance of being designed for relative simple and small tasks and worlds. For every new task big changes has to be done by competent and skilled programmers. In this work we are trying to create architecture based on a modified behaviour based subsumtion architecture and decision trees. First we create a basic structure, on that it should be possible to add new behaviours. Different parameters can be modified up and down to let the agent carry out the behaviours in different ways. As an example, think of a very hungry agent. It will be more aggressive and inclined to attack. It will also affect the agent judgement and it may lead to incorrect conclusions. The aim is that the basic structure is going to be usable by relative inexperienced users to create new types of agents with different behaviours. It should be easy to create individual personalities to create a feeling of that every agent is in some sense unique. It is also important that it is possible to make changes in the agent if something is wrong with it.
