Abstract

Container‑based deployment is increasingly adopted in distributed industrial systems to support modular and flexible software integration; however, ensuring timing correctness in such systems depends on both container execution and predictable network communication. While real‑time container platforms provide processor isolation and Time‑Sensitive Networking (TSN) enables predictable and deterministic communication, the end‑to‑end timing behavior of distributed real‑time applications remains strongly influenced by deployment decisions such as container placement and inter‑container communication. This paper addresses this challenge by proposing a timing‑aware deployment approach for distributed real‑time containers over TSN‑enabled infrastructure. The deployment problem is formulated as a mixed‑integer linear program that jointly determines container placement and communication under processor capacity, placement admissibility, and network constraints. The candidate deployments are subsequently analyzed using CONAN-TSN to verify timing feasibility and deadline satisfaction.
