Abstract

Case-Based Reasoning (CBR) is a recognised and well established method for building medical systems. In this paper, we identify strengths and weaknesses of CBR in medicine. System properties, divided into construction-oriented and purpose-oriented, are used as the basis for a survey of recent publications and research projects. The survey is used to find current trends and additional tendencies in present medical CBR research.
