Melika Hozhabri is an industrial Ph.D. student at Mälardalen University, Sweden. Melika got her bachelor degree in Electronic Engineering at Amirkabir university of technology, Iran. In 2009, she graduated as M.Sc. in Robotics from Mälardalen University. She is currently employed at ADDIVA AB. Her research focuses on human detection with UWB radar.
The ability to track human movement is useful for wide ranging security and safety applications. A number of technologies have been explored for detecting and tracking humans. This research is going to focus on detecting human by Ultra Wide Band (UWB) Radar in cluttered environment like mines. UWB has some advantages like the ability to function in poor visibility and varying temperature over other technologies like vision or infrared. The task will be to develop signal processing algorithms for radar echo signals to characterize them for distinction between targets.
