Henrik Falk worked at Mälardalen University from 2018 to 2026 as a research engineer and lecturer in robotics, electronics and cybersecurity. He served as programme director for the M.Sc. Eng. Robotics programme, developed and taught the course Regulations and IT Law within Cybersecurity, and was technical advisor for projects at the Collaborative Center (C2), including AutoBike and AutoSail. In 2025–2026 he was Operations Lead for field trials within the FMV-funded SLaRC and Technical Coordination Officer in the EU project NexTArc within Chips JU, coordinating 38 partner organisations across ten countries. His Bachelor thesis, conducted at Westermo Network Technologies, applied STRIDE threat modeling to remote access in IEC 61850 energy substations and identified architectural gaps enabling privilege escalation.
Since 2026, Henrik has been working as an OT security specialist at Zacco Digital Trust. He approaches segmentation as the counterpart of integration: defining how systems can be securely connected and share data, rather than only what should be kept apart. He works on both the product side, with threat modeling and security architecture in the development of connected and embedded products, and the requirements side, translating regulation such as NIS2 and the EU Cyber Resilience Act into technical and procurement requirements that organisations can implement and follow up. His work draws on IEC 62443, IEC 61850 and NIST SP 800-82.
