This is a project for funding of a professor of vehicular electronics and software architecture in the Embedded Systems (ES) centre of excellence at Mälardalen University (MDH). ES consists of six research directions, including Software Engineering (SE), which is the direction to which the professor will be associated. A major issue in SE is research into software and hardware architectures, especially for industrial and embedded system the issues of software and hardware benefit from being studied in conjunction. Henceforth, Volvo and MDH have decided to jointly apply for co-funding for a new professor’s chair in the area of vehicular electronics and software architecture.
