Arnab Barua, Doctoral student


Arnab Barua is a Doctoral Student working as a member of the Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Systems group in the Computer Science and Software Engineering division. His research interest includes Multimodal Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Image Processing and Healthcare applications involving Artificial Intelligence. 

He completed his master's degree in Computer Science and Technology from Xidian University, China, in 2020 and bachelor degree in Computer Science and Technology from International Islamic University Chittagong, Bangladesh, in 2015.

Before his doctoral studies, Arnab Barua joined as a research engineer at the KIOS Research & Innovation Center of Excellence at the University of Cyprus. He also worked as a software engineer at Subra Systems Limited

Arnab Barua has been involved in AI and Machine Learning related research and development since 2017. His research focuses on developing intelligent systems in medical and industrial applications using multimodal machine learning and reasoning.

He was involved in a Chinese national funded project during his master’s study and worked in the state key laboratory of Xidian University where he was responsible for developing “Intelligent RF Sensing System for Human Activity and Health Prediction.”

At the KIOS Research & Innovation Center of Excellence, he has been involved in the European Union funded project named CARAMEL, where he researched artificial intelligence-based cybersecurity for connected and automated vehicles.
