Maria Ehn, Researcher



Maria received a PhD in Biotechnology from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Stockholm in 2003 and has worked as a scientist at the Structural Genomics Consortium hosted by Karolinska Institute, Stockholm. She joined Mälardalen University in 2006 and has been working in the field of Health Technology since 2011.

Maria has also been the responsible researcher for a number of research projects fucusing on user-centered development of a digital support system for seniors' fall preventive physical activity. She has worked in the innovation cluster Robotdalen managing projects related to health technology, mainly systems supporting home-based stroke rehabilitation. The mentioned projects are/have beeen executed in collaboration with reseachers from different fields, end users, health care organizations, industrial partners and public authorities. 

Maria Ehn is researcher at the School of Innovation, Design and Engineering in Mälardalen University.

Her research interests include methods for integrating end-users' needs and perspectives in development and testing of new health technology solutions. Current research focuses on technology for fall prevention among seniors including digital motivation support for fall preventive physical activity. She is interested in interdisciplinary research in collaboration with end users, stakeholders and industrial partners.
