Håkan Forsberg is responsible for the Master of Engineering Program in Dependable Systems (Civilingenjörsprogrammet i tillförlitliga system). He is also the subject teacher for Aeronautical Engineering at Mälardalen University, Västerås. He is currently the project leader for the methodologies group in the KKS research profile project DPAC – Dependable Platforms for Autonomous systems and Control, and co-project leader in the NFFP7, Vinnova project SafeDeep.
Håkan Forsberg has a M.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering from Linköping University, Linköping, Sweden (1997), and a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden (2003). He is an IEEE Senior Member.
During the years 1996-2014 Håkan Forsberg worked at Saab as a specialist with development and certification of safety-critical electronics and computers. He was the hardware certification lead for several civilian projects.
In 2008-2015 Håkan Forsberg was the COTS subgroup leader in the DO-254 Users Group, coordinating 29 companies from 11 countries. In 2013 – 2014 he was Saab’s representative in the International Research Committee of Aerospace Vehicle Systems Institute (AVSI).
Teaching:
Håkan Forsberg's main research interests include fault-tolerant systems, design assurance strategies for dependable systems and use of modern microcontrollers and heterogeneous architectures (highly complex COTS) in safety-critical applications. His research also include the use of machine learning in safety-critical systems.
